John Adams, 30 October 1735 to 4 July, 1826 an American statesman, diplomat and political theorist. A leading advocate of independence in 1776, he was the second president of the United States. Hailing from New England, Adams, a prominent lawyer and public figure in Boston, were highly educated and represented the Enlightenment values promote republicanism.
Adams was born into a modest family, but he felt an urgent responsibility to live up to their family heritage, the founding generation of Puritans who came to the American desert in 1630's and established the colonial presence in America.
